New engines for boats don’t come cheaply and replacing an old inboard engine on a yacht can throw up unexpected problems which add to the cost. However, there comes a time when the options are to refurbish, replace or endure increasing uncertainty about the reliability of an old engine. We reached a point with our yacht, “Magic Bus”, at a time when we had the opportunity through retirement to increase the immense enjoyment that the yacht had already given us and our family.
